Это один из множества черновых набросков Шелли, опубликованных женой поэта Мэри Шелли в изданиях 1824 и 1839 годов. Мэри снабдила отрывок заголовком «To the Moon» («К луне»). Две строки следующего станса были опубликованы В. М. Россетти в 1870 году: «Thou chosen sister of the spirit,/That gazes on thee till in thee it pities …» («Ты выбрала себе сестру по духу, /Что на тебя глядит с жалостью...»)
