It works! Yann 16:30, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, fine, so here we go :-), -jkb- 14:32, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
You will need admin rights to translate MediaWiki pages. See Wikilivres:Localization. Would you like to get them? Yann 15:40, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
- Yann, thanks for your trust. Sure, I think I could need the rights for different things, and I hope you know how I use such rights. So, it would be usefull to get them - and I thank you. -jkb- 16:17, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
- So, done. ;o) You can add yourself here: Wikilivres:Administrators. Yann 16:25, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

- Congratulations; happy that you are admin here :) -Zephyrus 17:37, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
I think that's a good way to meet again :-) -jkb- 17:39, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
- Welcome to this Canadian site and adminship here. I have translated the Czech link from the Chinese Main Page while welcoming Czech as the seventh language here. My native Chinese is the sixth one.--Jusjih 02:51, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, and thanks as well for the notices in the oldwikisource. Regards, -jkb- 11:26, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
about this project
Hello, I think the articles would be deleted because the site lacks "notability". Actually there was a page Wikilivres on the French Wikipedia, but it was deleted. Yann 09:02, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
- hm. -jkb- 10:11, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
- Although I have a lot of critics for the notability criteria on Wikipedia, I don't think there could or should be an article about Wikilivres. In my opinion, the most useful is to try to promote Wikilivres as an alternative to Commons when images can't be hosted there. Obviously images hosted on Wikilivres can't be used on Wikipedia now (but that could change), it would still be very interesting to have a nearly official status as Commons backup. Regards, Yann 16:18, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
- Well, I add links to Wikilivres wherever I can, on author pages on Wikipedia. That's really useful and very few people complain. You can help here, especially in other languages than English and French. Yann 01:10, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- Yann, in fact, adding links to WL was the initial reason for me to speak about this point. If there is no information what WL is it can be difficult to explain why I link to it. The same problem: notability, what is it? But nevertheless, I will link to WL in the German and Czech projects soon, now preparing some simple templates. Regards, -jkb- 13:40, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

Template:Categorytoc/documentation
I am not quite sure what if for and how it is going to be used. This is also sounds puzzling for me:
(English) This template is to be used in categories with a great number of entries.
"with a great number of entries." ???? "entries" --- do you mean "pages" Could you show some examples of the use of this template for me to understand what it is about? Dmitrismirnov 17:47, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
- See Category:25%, Category:50%, Category:75% or Category:100%. It should help to find in these categories the letter you want, otherwise you are to scroll many many times. -jkb- 18:26, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
- add: i.e. only such letters should be there which can stand on the first place of a word (or title). -jkb- 18:28, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
I still do not understand how it will be used.
These letters are unlikely to be the First letters of Russian Words:
These letters are not in use in the Contemporary Russian:
І і Ѣ ѣ Ѳ ѳ Ѵ ѵ — Ѱ ѱ ѱ҃ Ѯ ѯ ѯ҃ Ѫ ѫ Ѧ ѧ ї Ѡ ω Ѿ ѿ Є Ѥ Ѭ ѻ҃ ѹ ѕ ıа — Dmitrismirnov 22:33, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
- Well, it works already, see e.g. the Category:100% with some 2357 entries where the template is in use. If you search Russian works like Автобиография (Честертон) you have a problem because this page appears after you scrolled some 11 times. Now you can klick on the Russian А and you will get it immediatelly. My only problem was that I do not know the Russian alphabet properly and secondly that I do not know what letter do not appear at the beginning of a word. In fact, I copied the Russian alphabet somewhere and I was sure there are some Ukrainian letters and some very old letters as well - now it seems to be all right. Kind regards and thanks for your help, -jkb- 23:02, 19 December 2009 (UTC)

Georgian
Hello,
I have seen that you imported some Georgian texts. Thank you for that. Could you add a proper header where it is missing, and at least the name of the author? Thanks, Yann 16:20, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
- Sure. Originally I thought that somebody from the Georgien users will help. Well. Anyway, I have a list (User:-jkb-/Import Tabidze) and I will do it. Regards, -jkb- 16:35, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
Léonard Bercy
Hello, the 1957 was because I copy from Jules Castier to make the page (and Le Cœur et la Raison). I have already search in every possible mean I know, french annd belgian library... he's quite unknown, like most of small translators JeanFaucille 19:24, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
Yes, I have seen it. Follow Wikilivres:Community Portal/en#Léonard Bercy, regards -jkb- 19:34, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
- Hello, I also searched for him in the French National catalog, but could not find him. I find we could include this work. The alternative is to write to the publisher asking for details. Yann 11:27, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
OK. In the moment I included the not-PD template I didn't know that some other users searched in the national catalogue etc. I think we could include the work as well, either without any notice about a licence or mightbe with something like
| The translator of this work died unknown. All attempts to determine any birth or death data in appropriate databases had no result. It can be assumed that the translator is an unknown pseudonyme or died more than 50 years ago. Thus this work is in the public domain in countrie where the copyright term is the author's life plus 50 years or less at least. |
or any similar wording. -jkb- 12:33, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
