Main Page in Chinese

Hello,

That's a very nice idea! Please go ahead. Yann 04:38, 20 April 2008 (EDT)

The converter is not installed, but I will look at it. Yann 16:26, 20 April 2008 (EDT)
Yes, there is no vote to become admin here. Just contribute and I will give you the bit. ;o) Yann 16:54, 20 April 2008 (EDT)
I added ZH for interwiki links into the database, but it doesn't work yet. For all translated page, you can add a redirect like Main English Page/zh and there will be an automatic redirect if you set you language to zh: Yann 18:43, 20 April 2008 (EDT)
Interwiki links to Chinese Wikisource and Wikipedia work now. It was a cache problem. I didn't have the time to add the extension yet. Regards, Yann 03:13, 28 April 2008 (EDT)
I got your messages, but I don't have the time to look at it now. Regards, Yann 15:05, 23 May 2008 (EDT)

I upgraded the wiki, but it seems that the converter doesn't work on a multilingual wiki. Maybe you could ask a dev some more information about that, because I was not able to get any. Regards, Yann 18:43, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Yes, importing is possible. I have given you the admin rights, so you can do it. I tested the interface in Chinese in zh.ws and here, and I see the differences. Everyone told me that the converter is integrated into Mediawiki, and is active when the default langage is Chinese. Here the default langage is English. There is an Chinese converter extension, which I will try later. Regards, Yann 07:34, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

Li Bai

It is unclear for me which category [[Category:Authors-B]] or [[Category:Authors-L]] belongs Li Bai? The same question about Du Fu, He Kequan, Lao Zi, Li Youyuan and Tao Qian. Please advise. Thanks in advance, yours, Dmitrismirnov 04:04, 28 April 2008 (EDT)

New Chinese works

Hello,

You can add new works to Template:NewWorks when there are complete. Best regards, Yann 22:01, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Localization

Hello! Please, translate into Chinese a couple of Mediawiki items to authоr pages localization. You can see the list at «Localization» section in my sandbox. -- Sergey kudryavtsev 07:27, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. As I have not seen other Chinese-speaking users here, I use traditional Chinese for now. Please indicate more MediaWikis to translate if you know more, so I can better invite more Chinese Wikisource users to come here.--Jusjih 20:20, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
We with Yann arranged to notify each other about a new localization Mediawiki items at section «Localization» in Wikilivres:Community Portal-en. Is it needed to add Mediawiki:Chinese translations, e.g.? -- Sergey kudryavtsev 10:18, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
I do not expect posting Chinese translations here soon, but if you want to add a new MediaWiki, it is fine to me.--Jusjih 01:37, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Ehm

ehm, see 秦的重農思想及對統一的影響, a bit strange, have a look at it pls, -jkb- 17:54, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. I am asking its contributor where exactly the article is from and what the copyright permission is.--Jusjih 00:47, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

It is not only the authorship which maked me worry, but the sources/notes which are used in the text are from 1980 to 2006 or something like that. So, it is a quite new document. Regards -jkb- 05:56, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

The following is from User talk:Yimeagle after I asked:

有關著作權問題可直接聯絡作者 .,這是她的畢業論文。

......

--Yimeagle 08:41, 2 September 2009 (UTC)yimeagle

Translated from Chinese to English as:

Copyright question may be addressed to the author. It is her graduation essay.

As we have no policy or guideline on notability of works, can we have it here as an article? I will email to ask what copyright permission is granted. If granted but not fit as an article, I will propose moving the essay under the contributor's user page as the subpage.--Jusjih 01:50, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
I got the email reply allowing republication and distribution irrevocably, but as commercial uses and derivative works are reserved, its duplicate at Chinese Wikisource will be deleted.--Jusjih 02:09, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Well, I cannot judge the Article as I am no expert in this theme and as I do not trust the google translations :-). But obviously this is a part of a started discussion on wikisource-l on new scientific works for Wikisource. There were some few opinions on it some two or three months ego, I am sorry I did not participate and answerded this. Might be it should be started once again. But my opinion was mostly negative as it does not suit the scope of Wikisource. But probably we shall have to make an exeption here. I will not vote against if other ones would like it here. -jkb- 09:18, 5 September 2009 (UTC) - - - P.S. There was a malfunction in my email, now I've got some more mails probably on the same matter, I have to read it. -jkb- 11:28, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

秦的重農思想及對統一的影響

Hello, Could you please this page created by a new user? I removed the mail he added there. Thanks, Yann 18:14, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. I am asking its contributor where exactly the article is from and what the copyright permission is.Once showing that email makes me think if this is user-written.--Jusjih 00:47, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

Special:Contributions/Georgezhao

Hello, Could you please check the texts added by this contributor. Many pages do not have a header. Thanks, Yann 23:24, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your reminder. I will go through it later.--Jusjih 03:44, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

谢谢指点,麻烦把我wikisource里重复的都删掉吧。我想大多数都是wikisource里重复了,不好意思。 Georgezhao 05:09, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

Translation from North Korea

Hello, Thanks for your message. I have answered on Wikisource. In short, it doesn't seem that the work was done "free of charge". Yann 10:06, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

Αβ et Pierre Marteau

... sont la même personne. Pierre Marteau contribue en littérature et Αβ (administrateur) est le compte réservé à la technique. Ma langue maternelle est le français et je parle aussi un peu l'anglais (en-1). Αβ 13:42, 29 September 2009 (UTC)

Chinese authors

Hello, Could you please have a look at the new Chinese authors added by User:Arilang1234. Thanks, Yann 12:23, 15 October 2009 (UTC)

Yes when I have time and you are welcome. As he likes to add speeches covered by Template:Manifesto, I ask him to register a username here. If you read en.ws:Wikisource:Scriptorium#Move_PD-manifesto_works_to_Canadian_Wikilivres? you will see English manifestos about to be brought here.--Jusjih 21:08, 15 October 2009 (UTC)

I have made ...

... a new template, see Template talk:Categorytoc if you will Chinese letters there, regards -jkb- 17:28, 19 December 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, but normal Chinese has no letters. More Chinese works will be posted, but I have to think which "common" Chinese characters to include as I cannot add thousands.--Jusjih 04:26, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
OK. I did not mean letter in the common sense. However, I changed the template provisionally in that way that you can click "Chinese" there which let you jump to the character 一 (in the special Allpages it seems to be the first used character at the moment, see e.g. here). Be free aqnd change it. Regards, -jkb- 09:39, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
It is fine now as we have no Japanese texts yet.--Jusjih 02:06, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
Well, I tried the best. I had a look at de.wp:Liste der Unicode-Blöcke and en.wp:List of Unicode characters to get a help but for somebody who doesn't have any knowledge in it it is rather difficult. But might be it will help for the next future a bit - just to deistinguish and find the Chinese titles. Regards, -jkb- 15:25, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

Euskara

Can you have a look at Talk:Munilla apezpikuaren aurkako Gipuzkoako apaizen agiria? Manifesto? By the way, how can one link to oldwikisource from here? Regards, -jkb- 12:07, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

I just looked. If unacceptable there but acceptable here with Template:Manifesto, then we should propose there to move it in. I do not know exactly if there is a simple way to link to Old Multilingual Wikisource.--Jusjih 02:15, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

Well I am not the expert here on manifestos like you are, but it seems to me that it yould be one. I will ask the basque editors what it is exactly and I will suggest them to move it. Thanks. -jkb- 17:27, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

Yes, ask them what exactly the content is and introduce them Template:Manifesto, better with a translation in their language. As English and Chinese Wikisources are abolishing PD-Manifesto as presumed copyright, this is not to be introduced on any Wikisource domain.--Jusjih 00:43, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

Authorized

Hi Jusjih. I am not quite sure if I understand the wording of the Template:Authorized well: "...copyrighted with the author's authorization...". Is it in the sense "... is copyrighted, with the author's authorization for the use in Wikilivres (only), but the author may still reserve other rights..."? Thanks in advance, regards -jkb- 17:02, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

I made the tags in three languages based on our copyright policy that allows works under copyright with the author's authorization. The authorization can vary widely from public domain to GFDL to any Creative Commons licenses to Wikilivres only. As with any other copyright licenses, evidence must be present to validate these tags. Some Chinese texts have copyright holders' permission to re-post while other rights remain reserved. The new authorized tag is a generic one allowing Wikilivres to post, but more specific tags should be used when appropriate. As Wikipedia sometimes receives copyright permission to re-posted certain works at Wikipedia only, these works are not really acceptable there without fair use, but we may be able to tag them authorized here while third party may not have permission to use them other than fair use.--Jusjih 23:38, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
Yes, thanks, that is what I was thinkiong, in fact it is "Wikilivres only" isn't it. Regards, -jkb- 07:08, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
I changed the wording in English and French. Regards, Yann 06:19, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
Sure. I will change the wording in Chinese later.--Jusjih 01:40, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
As I localized it see pls. MediaWiki:Authorized/zh, regards -jkb- 08:30, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

PD-pma-author

Hello, The purpose of the new template is to be at the bottom, with a link at the top ([1]). Best regards, Yann 13:29, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for your interest in the new automated copyright licenses. Would you please look at Wikilivres:Delete where I wonder if several works tagged PD-release should be sent to Wikisource or deleted for no permission?--Jusjih 00:19, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
Like I wrote it there, the problem is the proof. Wikisource requires a definitive proof, while I am being happy with a quasi-certainty. Yann 06:13, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

Wikilivres.ca

The contents of this site have been moved to wikilivres.ca, and new material should be added there. All administrative rights have been preserved. You have been involved with this site since the beginning, and I look forward to your continued involvement. I have noticed your concern about articles marked as "Manifesto". Until now, I have not given much thought to this class of articles. They are of course open to review, but not as a priority issue. I'm willing to listen to ideas.
